I love shopbop, but I can't always shop there. I spotted this cute fruit charm bracelet and instantly thought: 'how can I make this without spending too much?' The materials only cost me $15!
MATERIALS//
*click items to shop
black braided cord [this cord is cotton, 4mm]
bent nose + straight nose pliers
detail scissors
glue
gold tassel caps
gold lobster clasp
gold jump rings [ I will be using 3 sizes of jump rings 5mm, 6mm, and 7mm]
fruit charms
measuring tape [optional]
gold chain extender [not pictured, optional]
STEPS//
1) Cut the cord according to the measurements of your wrist.
2) Squeeze a drop of glue into both tassel caps and attach the caps onto the ends of the cord. Let it dry for at least 10 minutes.
3) Attach 4 jump rings (6mm) to the cord, the rings should be bigger than the cord.
4) Attach a jump ring (5mm) to each of the fruit charms ( only 4 fruit charms).
5) Attach all of the fruit charms on a bigger jump ring (7mm) and then slide the ring under the 4 jump rings on the bracelet.
6) Secure the jump ring with the charms with pliers, and then tighten the 4 jump rings on the bracelet with pliers.
7) Repeat steps 3-6 until you have created the desired amount of sets for the bracelet.
8) Add a jump ring to both ends of the tassel caps. Add a lobster clasp to one end and add a chain extender to the other end or just leave 1 jump ring.
Finished!
Although it doesn't look like a $100, it is still a pretty cute, fun accessory!
